Peavey PV 14 10 Mic/4 Line Input Stereo Mixer

Why the clearance requirements on the Peavey PV-14 mixer?

Why are the following clearance specs so important for the Peavey PV-14 mixer:This unit must have the following clearances from any combustible surface:top: 8", sides: 12", back: 12"? I have not noticed any noticeable heat from this mixer.
Asked by: jlstahlecker
Manufactures list clearance requirements for anything that has the potential of getting warm or hot for liability reasons. I cannot specifically say it is safe to have the unit enclosed inside anything smaller than the stated dimensions although you can contact Peavey and as them directly. You can find their contact information at www.peavey.com.

What sort of outputs does this mixer have?

How many outputs and aux sends does this mixer have and are they XLR or 1/4 inch outputs - balanced or unbalanced?
Asked by: Chayla
This Peavey mixer has all of the industry standard outputs you would find on most mid level sound reinforcement units. It has both XLR and 1/4in outputs for the main mix. You can use these at the same time however, they are most likely wired in parallel versus isolated so if you do use both inputs at once it will cause the XLR to become unbalanced. The mixer does NOT have an alternate mix bus such as the Yamaha Mg166cx. This is a helpful feature for simultaneous recording/live sound.Other outputs include a headphone jack with independent volume control, stereo control room out (1/4in), stereo recording out (RCA connectors), and mono effects send and mono monitor send. Please be aware that this unit does not have an aux return or effects return meaning it will be difficult to use with an external processing unit. The record out (RCA connectors) on most mixers is independent of the main mix fader, meaning that the volume is the same as the channel inputs regardless of the main mix level. In my opinion this mixer is better suited for garage bands than an audio engineer. It's hard to find a mixer much more simple than this one. For beginners its good but one will quickly outgrow its capabilities.I can not speak for quality.
