Absolutely kills anything at this price point. Thursday, November 5, 2009
Andrew from Allentown, Pennsylvania
For less than $15 this is the best soldering iron this armature hobbiest has ever owned. The temperature control is almost unheard of at this price point, but is incredibly useful. Plus the stand, and the tip-sponge and this thing is a real winner for < $15. Get the extra tips... they are only like $5 and they are all noticeably higher quality than what you would find in your local electronics store at twice the price. I've already used this to build a hi-fi tube amp kit with amazing results. Turning the temp up helps de-solder large joints and also makes tinning heavy gauge wire easier than I ever thought possible, while still allowing the temp to be pulled back for sensitive components. At this price point. I don't thin it's beatable.

Good Soldering Iron Thursday, November 5, 2009
Rick from Elon, NC
Bought this for occasional use and for teaching students how to solder. Not a Hakko or Weller, but hard to beat at the price.
