12" All-Weather Passive Subwoofer 250W

These subs are ideal garden subs with incredible build quality...absolutely rock solid, heavy duty injection molded poly-resin cabinets and burly crossovers. These two components are well worth the $60 dollar sale price alone, even before throwing in the 12" driver. I've been looking for a solution like this for over two years and I'm really glad Parts Express found these. Here's my project...
I built two 10" truck boxes and buried them facing upwards in some landscaping beds and propped a 2'x2' heavy slate stepping stone about 4" above the driver (like a roof) to act as a sound diffuser and sheild the boxes from direct water and sun. Each sub is placed between the two main sets of speakers on opposite sides of my pool. My current subs work great...but now I am going to replace them with these Marcatos because the cabinets are better suited for the damp ground...same design, facing upwards with the slate diffuser propped flat above them for protection and sound deflection with some flowers in front of them for even more disguise. I haven't installed them yet cause the ground is frozen...so have to wait till spring to report on how they perform...but I figure I can always upgrade the driver if needed, and the amplifier driving them...Did I mention the solid build quality of these things yet? These can also be placed in the ground buried about 9" standing upright as in the picture. They look decent enough on their own...but if I were positioning them like that I'd put a shrub in front of them so they'd blend into the landscape better. Did I tell you about the build quality yet? Do yourself a favor and grab one or two of these...i don't think you'll be disappointed in this one.

I was debating getting this sub, but i went for it. The other 12in sub i found was the Boston Voyager but way to pricey. I went with it and im really happy. Its dual coil which means more power i hooked it up to my nht sa-2 and wow i get bass. Like really good bass sounds like im a car.

The description states hat you can mount this between the joists of your deck. Well technically you can but have to fabricate a way to mount it. Also for it to be effective you would want it firing up. Not sure this would last with the water pooling up in the woofer and spring terminals for the wires. I ended up mounting it sideways but the perfomance is hampered. I beleive the best performance would be sitting on the deck standing up.
