HT bass

In-wall design works out well. Wife wanted no part of a big, black cube in the room. Amazing how much different the movies are going from 7.0 to 7.1. HT definitely needs the bass module. PE came through with a very good part w/ the usual lightening speed service. May add transducers to seating in future. Not really sure if auto-on/off is working.

Good sound with a bit of tweaking.

Recently paired this with a Dayton SA100 sub amp to provide a hidden sub for a living room theater setup. Mounted the amp to the inside of electronics cabinet, then put the sub in a nearby wall. Sounded much better after adding a rubber pad that hangs down over the sub inside the wall.

Excellent performance for the price

I tried these after having such good experiences with the 5 1/4" Goldwood in-walls that I also posted a review for. These have the same clean look of the in-walls, as long as you apply the optional spacers that come with them. You may not need them if you are installing in thicker than normal drywall, otherwise the edge will not seat tight against the wall. Sound quality is very good. They provide decent output, at least in the walls I have used them in. They sound very clean and accurate, as good as any more expensive in-wall passive sub I have used, like the MTX I used to use that had to 8's in it. I think the only way you could do better with an in-wall sub would be the built in ones that have their own enclosure attached to the studs.
