DISCONTINUED Sonic Impact 5029 Soundpads Stick-On Speakers

I am not an audiophile, but I can tell when something sounds good to my ears. When accompanied by a subwoofer and attached to corrugated plastic board (like they use to make yard signs), these cheap little speakers sound as good as many that cost 5X the price. Actually, in the bright sounds such as piano and acoustic guitar, I would say they beat a great many of them.

We stuck these on 3' square sheets of foam core and suspended the sheets from the ceiling - wall using upholstery thread so that they would float free. We used a T-amp to drive them. If the edges touch the wall they will buzz but if you float them on something like the thread or fishline they become very airy. They are especially good for certain kinds of sounds like acoustic strings, falling rain, things that are sparkly and precise. They are no good for low end but with a subwoofer they work fine. Foam core is not really ideal as it's not durable and absorbs some of the sound. -- I'd like to see how they would work with aluminum or carbon fiber sheets. You need something that is very light but fairly stiff for the sound pads to drive.

I've been looking for these everywhere, yes, I'm saying ti again as I have searched and searched.. A bunch of years ago I bought a soundbug but it was under powered and the batteries wore down quickly, there are professional models of these, but not worth spending hundreds for a cheap thrill - these are perfect and you get a big thrill for not a lot and by no means are they cheap! These are cool! Like the other review said, buy them so keep them in demand and available. :)
