Dayton RS1200K 12" Reference Series Subwoofer Kit

I shopped carefully and found this to be a very good value. I'm using this with Ohm Walsh2 speakers and a McIntosh MC2200 with my computer as the audio source. I'm still playing with the equalizer a little, and it is very flexible and musical. I'm a jazz/blues bass player and I appreciate the low distortion of this subwoofer. I always prefer accurate bass versus loud bass, and this sub really extends the lower octaves very cleanly. No mud here. I listen to a lot of pipe organ music with this sub. Yes's "The Ladder" comes through very nicely. I can hear new detail in recordings I thought I knew well. Assembly was straightforward and everything fit perfectly and works flawlessly. Beware of the weight of this box when lifting, it's solid and heavy. Thanks for offering this kit!

I had rattles coming from the amp when the sub was being driven. I probably should have opened up the amp to isolate them. The amp looks cheap, but it seems to do the job. The bass was still deep from the testing I did. I returned this product because I couldn't get it to mix well with music (my fronts are B&W 604 S3's). This product would probably work well for its intended use (home theater). Powerful. I've searched for good powered subwoofers for years. I'm still happiest with my Velodyne VA 1210.

This is a very nice kit. I'm really happy with the purchase. Fantastic driver, well build box with professional looking finish, and full featured plate amp. I added 1 lb of stuffing to lower the Qtc which provides a slightly deeper bass response. Bass is deep and very clean. Highly recommended.
