Dayton SAT-BK Satellite Speaker Pair Black

A great set of speakers to own I have 2 pair using them for zone 2 with my Onkyo 7.2 recever Perfect replacement for those cheesy speaker in the BOX systems I gave all 5 for the price thay sound good as the high doller speakers not a lot of bass but it does well for its size. i also have the complet 5.1 set with 12" sub Its a Beast

Don't be too expectant based on all the rave reviews. This pair of speakers is decent, especially for the price, but they are not the same sound quality as other Dayton products.
I am a fan of Dayton stuff. It is often the hands-down best at whatever price point you are looking.
These speakers are punchy, and have good mid range projection. Don't expect much bass, but when coupled with a sub, it's fine. The tweeters and highs are OK, but not great. I suppose this is to allow the fundamental/vocal range be the most prominent, especially outside.
They are shaped so that if you stand them on a table or desk the tweeters are angled upward. Keep that in mind if you intend to use them on a table/stand, or computer or workstation.
These speakers are better than most for $40/pair. Add that these can be hung outdoors (keep under cover, and they are really hard to beat for $40.
But they are definitely NOT full range speakers, and the sound quality and clarity and tuning of these speakers is just decent.Some Dayton speakers are exceptional. These are not.

My app is for rears in 5.1 scenario. They are fine for that. The tower speakers I have as mains blow them away, but they cost 20 times as much.
If you want great sounding speakers, bump up your budget and buy something else.

Used these as television replacement speakers. They sound good with the 7 watt tv amp and the magnetic shield is a plus. A good value tho the mounting hardware limits possibilities.
