Dayton DTA-2 Class T Digital Audio Amplifier Module

This amp, compared to others its size, is in the top 10 I have used. It isn't mind bending loud, it is only a max of 15 watts after all. But couple them with some highly efficient drivers, and you will have solid, clean, low distortion audio.

I purchased this amp to run two DAEX25's even though these tactile transducers aren't very efficient, or clean as compared to standard drivers, the T amp runs them without so much as a huff. The IC barely gets warm while driving to moderate levels.

One item of note. I have seen on the web people asking questions about the capacitors that come with the T amp. These MUST be installed, I soldered mine right to the pads on the amps circuit board. No need to place them out at the speaker end as some were doing. Its good too that you install the ferrite rings to filter any transient noise.

Buy one or two or more. I am ordering a second today! You wont be sorry!.

Once the Halloween community gets a hold of this it should sell very well. Its a very compact amp, easy to use, plenty powerful and excellent into integrate into projects.

Based on Tripath's Class-T (TM) amplifier IC, this little module is easy to hook up and integrate. The instructions were pretty clear, only the orientation of the on/off/volume control ribbon cable was lacking. The red wires are for the on/off switch.

Since Tripath filed for Chapter 11 a few years ago, I wonder if Dayton Audio bought their inventory and/or their intellectual property.
