Peerless 830970 2" Full Range Driver 4 Ohm

These little guys are amazing on their own but are even better in pairs. Join two in series to make an 8 ohm load. The sound is very smooth--no shrillness at all. They seem to be built quite solid. How does all that sound come from such a tiny source?

These are great little speakers.. Didnt think they would sound as good as they do.. i put them in a sealed .07 chamber along with some 8" woofers for surround speakers.... i didnt use any crossovers as my tuner has that built in...would also be great for line array...

I bought half a dozen of these to make new HT satellites for the living room. i was lazy and just built 3" cubes from 1/4" MDF stuffed with poly-fill, and like the results. They're matched with an RSS315HF sub w/ a 240W amp, and crossed at 150 Hz or 200 Hz. The sound quality was surprising, and I put them up a little higher so we're not listening right on-axis. The drawbacks are minor - I wish the 4-ohm came in black, and it can be tough to make sure there's enough venting.

These won't replace my main HT system, but for $60 and a couple hours of work, it's a good deal, and would make a neat project for beginners.
