10" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer

I bought two and used them in a budget home theater. I also bought two of PartsExp's sealed car boxes, to put the woofers in and to get the free shipping.

The subs are in two separate, sealed car boxes and I run them on an old Pioneer stereo amp (from the sub-out on my 5.1 receiver - using an RCA splitter to get L/R channels).

I'm probably running 50 watts to each (amp is 100w/channel at 8 ohm but I have them DVCs wired at 16 ohm - amp is not 4 ohm stable).

The bass is really good. I've had them two months now and watched several movies. Even with the sealed boxes and high ohms, these suckers shake my couch, freak out my cat and just sound great.

On the other hand, they do not obnoxious or too boomy. With music, for instance, the bass hits hard and deep but doesn't linger longer than it should.

If you are on a budget and don't mind car boxes littering your living room, you can't go wrong getting one of these, putting it into a sealed box and powering it with an old amp.

i got 4 of these for 100$ for The subs in my home theater room... I put them in a 8ft long box below my screen 2 cu ft each stuffed with 1 lbs poly fill and i must say they sound rather well ! i was impressed for the price i was not expecting much! now im sure their are much nicer subs on here but this being my first build i want some thing cheap in case i never finished or messed up lol

Not to be rude in any way. Just going from your post only. You say you had a spare 10" box that needed a speaker. Na, You need take the speaker values and build that box to this speakers needs. The box you used most likely had a port of some kind which really made this thing act not up to par. Just because it is a 10" don't think it will sound its best in any 10" box.
