The 8948A woofer is one of Usher's most popular drivers, featuring their low distortion motor system and a carbon fiber/paper cone which dampens resonances usually associated with stiff cones. Heavy magnet system eliminates modulations as well as lowering clipping distortion. Rubber surround along with a progressive spider to prevent over excursion. This midbass sets the standard for sound reproduction. After break in my pair comes much closer to manufacturers specs than the ones listed on this site.

Haven't implemented the system with them yet (cabinets haven't arrived) but they sound promising so far in the test boxes. Will update this review or post a new one and post more about their sound once I get the system done.

THIS DRIVER HAS IT ALL! SUPERIOR MID-RANGE AND EXTREMELY POWERFUL BASS RESPONSE ALONG WITH VERY REAL NATURAL MUSIC REPRODUCTION. THE GOLD PLATED TERMINALS ARE ALSO TOP SHELF. I HAVE THE DRIVER CROSSED OVER A 2,300 HZ IN .50 CU. FT. PORTED ENCLOSURE AND THE SOUND COULDN'T BE BETTER!
