Dayton RSS210HF-4 8" Reference HF Subwoofer 4 Ohm

this is one heck of a little sub....currently in a very small sealed enclosure in my car, about 0.35 cu ft...about as small as it can handle, but as big as i could fit...a little bit larger of an enclosure would have been nice, and this sub would have really shown, but thats what i was limited to. hits exceptionally low, very tight and accurate...i really could not have asked for more, especially since finding a sub that will be happy in such a small box is no easy feat....highly recommended!

Even though this driver has a thermal RMS max of 280w if you use it as a sub woofer you will hit its mechanical max far sooner. Some quick modeling with WinISD shows that with a 30 Hz test tone at 40 watts the driver will be at Xmax.

It sounds pretty good though, as long as you keep the power down. But I find myself hungry for a bit more bass :(

You will like this sub IF you give it the power it needs which is at least 200 watts (300 is even better). It is a bit power hungry, but really shines with higher power for an 8" driver. I suggest using a ported enclosure. It's rubber surround will need break-in time and can produce admirable bass in a smaller room and thunder a car I suspect.
