Dayton DC250-8 10" Classic Woofer

As these were my first complete build, everything from scratch, I was very apprehensive as to how they would sound. I spent nearly 10 years waiting for the resources (read cash), time, and courage to build Wayne's Veritas Design (Thank You Wayne!), and nearly a year in build time, and all I can say is Beautiful, Awesome, WOW! The Veritas design calls for 2 of these bad boys per side, so I was expecting much, and I was not disappointed. The Bass is clean, tight, and deep! There is definitely a break in period which I expect will vary depending on the type of music you play, how often, and how LOUD, my pair has been online for 5 months and the bass just keeps getting better. I listen to a mix of acoustic, Classical, and Contemporary Christian music, but these are also my Mains for my 5.1 HT. They transport you into the movie. I am building a center to match this summer, and I hope surrounds by next fall.
I have spent nearly 38 years listening to commercially available 3 and 4 way designs so many of which are muddy, sloppy, and colored. The Dayton Classic 10 in Wayne s design delivers 2K+ performance for a very reasonable price.
I can highly recommended, just give them a chance to break in!
FYI, I followed Wayne s design verbatim.
My only beef is the cardboard ring on the front not lining up withe holes in the basket.

Good choice to replace woofer in Boston Acoustic A150s; seamless change-out.

I used these in my old pair of 501's and they sound great. Plenty of bass and good detail. If you examine the specs closely you'll notice these are for a 1.7 cu ft box. Ideal for my application.
Others reviewers have mentioned the issue of the surrounds needing to be trimmed back from the holes and they mean it. I used a small pair of manicure scissors to modify mine and it worked perfectly. The installation is forgiving and if you do accidentally deform the surrounds they seem to be applied with some very tacky glue and could be easily adjusted.
