Dayton DC160S-8 6-1/2" Classic Shielded Woofer

I bought the Dayton monitor kit that included these woofers and a set of Dayton silk tweeters. They didn't sound good with a cheapo surround system since the impedance didn't match the rest of the speakers. However, with my old Sony ES receiver they sound amazing. Very tight clean bass. I have bought four more of the 4 ohm versions to make a set of dual woofer tower speakers. They do need a little bit of break in time to sound their best.

I bought a pair of these Daytons to replace the blown-out 6 s in the bass module of an inexpensive satellite/subwoofer combo purchased back in the '80s... even fresh out of the boxes, the bass sounds better than when the unit was new; very happy with the deep, smooth response at such a reasonable cost.

I bought a pair of these to replace the drivers in my pair of Sansui SP-30 speakers. After auditioning the newly rebuilt SP-30's for a few hours I could not be happier with my purchase. These drivers are an incredible value for the money, my SP-30's have never sounded this good. I'm amazed at how balanced the speakers sound, the bass response is extremely accurate and powerful for 6.5" drivers. I highly recommend these for anyone looking for some extremely value packed speakers for the money.
