Dayton RS52AN-8 2" Dome Midrange

My initial impressions were very positive. Easy to mount, visually cool. After awhile I found it to be edgy and one dimensional. Needs some TLC on the crossover side to incorporate it. If I wanted a mid to cover this range, I'd prefer the Tang Band W3-1335 3" or the Morel domes.

I was custom building a bass guitar cabinet and used all PE stuff. Basslite 2012, Dayton PC2W1.6K 2-Way Pro Crossover 1,600 Hz w/ integrated L-Pad and 1/4" jacks. The design was calling for a tweet here, but in a bass cabinet, I don't want that much high, but to really push the low-mid range. So I experimented with these. Wow! they really brightened up my tone and sound great, but did need the L-Pad to tone them down a bit. Now there's no hole in between my woofer cutoff and a tweeter.
Wish I had room for them in my current rebuild of another cabinet.

Using this to add some top end to a bass guitar cabinet, crossing over at about 1500 Hz. It seems to do the job. I have a protective breaker installed (#260-823); hope it works.
Based on my quick & dirty measurements, the frequency response is rather ragged, but extends pretty high, with a peak around 14KHz. Flatness isn't really a big issue in this application.
