3-1/2" Wide Dispersion Piezo Horn Tweeter Square

I picked up a few of these because of their good specs and absurdly low price. I had low expectations going in and they were barely met. I'm listening to them right now with a 4.7uF cap and 10ohm resistor for a pseudo-crossover. I can hear them, or at least a shuffling sort of high-frequency noise like a mouse chewing on a piece of chalk. I would say the usable frequency range is 10,000-?Hz. They actually sound better without a crossover because I can't hear them nearly as well, likely due to lower levels as a result of insane low-end impedance absorbing the majority of the signal. If you want an idea of what these sound like, imagine one of those off-brand PA speakers in bad clubs driven to slight distortion. Save yourself some money and the world some waste and look elsewhere.

These things are spectacularly smooth for piezos, and reproduce midrange including saxaphone and electric gituar very convincingly. I have good ears and was amazed by the sq. Resistence in series with a piez0 attenuates the top end of the response. I'll eventually experiment with an RTA to dial in the ideal series resistence, but I found them to sound very nice with between 100 and 200 ohms.

One of these and a simple saw tooth oscillator and the pest left town! The pest even wrote letters to their friends to stay away. It worked great for my application. The wild dispersion was a real benefit! Would not use it for music. Other Piezo models purchased here work much better for music.
