Tang Band 25-1372SC 1" Titanium Tweeter

This is an excellent tweeter from Tang-Band. It has a rising top-end response, which is perfect to combat the roll off that results with off-axis listening. The tweeter is better suited for a large floorstanding speaker than a small two way because of this. Good performance all around.

Very analytic and agressive sound. Sound big and precise but no sounstage at all. A good tweeter should show the start and the end of an element in the soundstage. Now, a supposed to be centered signer is as large as the speaker position. Very directive. Fatigue after 15 minutes and few hours make my ear acouphene ...

Not recommended.

I had been meaning to try these drivers for quite some time but passed wondering if they would suit my needs. I finally decided to try them when the cost was lowered during a sale.

This is not a driver to use if you have dead components, meaning 88, 89, 90db and so on. Recall your basic electronics that 3 db increase in efficiency is equivalent to a doubling of power so if your woofer and mids are 88 and 90 range well these tweeters are not for your system. I noted some people indicating they had to use padding to make these work well. There are many other less efficient drivers out there that won t need padding.

I paired these drivers up with some vintage Focal mids and and Seas 13" woofers, all in the 93-db range for efficiency. These Tang Band drivers come very close to the sound and quality of my older 120Ti Focal drivers. I figured if these were not what I expected I could return them but dismissed that thought after listening to them for a bit.
