PA Knock-Down Trapezoid Birch Cabinet for 12" Driver

I found this cabinet to be smaller than the description states. Fortunately my design could handle a smaller cabinet.

Internal dimensions are approximately: 22.75" H x 1/2(15.25" W (front) + 11.125 W (back)) x 9.5 D = 1.65 cubic ft.

I chose to use this cabinet for a 12" 2-way speaker. (The hole was not large enough for a B&C PS100 so I had to take a router to the face plate.)

Even though this cabinet does not come with internal bracing, it is quite solid.

Depending on your driver's magnet you may need to be careful where you put a speaker mounting Top Hat in this cabinet. The existing driver cutout prevents us from shifting the 12" driver location up for more clearance (unless you want the woofer at the top). Mine (245-012) barely cleared my B&C when I installed mine centered 5" from the front edge. (That is where my speaker ended up being balanced front to back.)

Other than having to recalculate because of incorrect description volume, it is what I was looking for. An decent quality easy to assemble cabinet for a 12" speaker design.

2 days to put together. I didn't use screws on the baffle. Easy to put together using corner clamps instead of second pair of hands.
12" Eminence Cannabis Rex 16 ohm drivers for the midbass, Pyle PH612 horn with B&C BDE10-8 1" Mylar Horn Driver 8 Ohm 2-Bolt and Selenium throat adapter #264-323 using jackgiff's Econowave hi-sensitivity crossover from AudioKarmas site. Sealed cabinet for use with a subwoofer.
Stuffed with fiberglass and well braced with 3/4" oak dowels.

The cuts are great on this kit, the wood is just so-so. With mine there were so many voids, the plies were coming apart on the edges. Not something that a bit of wood glue and clamp time can't fix, but not as nice as I thought I was getting. Unless you are extremely skilled with a router and table saw, you won't get this nice of a fit. You've seen this wood at Lowe's. If that's good enough for you, you'll love these kits.
