studs for top plate can unscrew,but a minor problem

I don't have a ton of experience with speaker stands, but I am satisfied with the quality of these.

Build is solid. There are a few nit picks:

Wire management is somewhat of an afterthought. I left it off and will be using black zip ties at the very top and very bottom, and expect a much tighter result.

Two tubes tend to "twist", meaning the top plate may get slightly out of alignment with the bottom.

Really, I'd say those are my only complaints, and perhaps the second is partially that i haven't tightened enough? Overwhelmingly good results with my Focal Chorus 807s

I use these for a pair of large bookshelf speakers. The height was just right to get the tweeters ar ear level when sitting on the couch.
These stands look sharp. The baked on finish feels quality and should look good for a long time.

I filled the tubes with fine sand from home depot. There are four holes on the top of each tube through which to fill them. It took me about 30 minutes to fill all four tubes. I used a funnel made by cutting the corner out of a small box.

My home built speakers are very heavy and weigh 40 lbs each so there is a bit of wobble in the stand if you push on a speaker. However, between the weight of my speakers and the sand in the tubes, speaker induced vibration is practically non-existant. I gave these a 4.5 stars because they aren't built as hard core as higher end stands, but then they cost 1/5 as much.
