They used to be cheaper. They are a cheap way to spike up a product. I have used them before for speaker stands. You need to go 1/32 under on the drill size for the insert, or they will be loose.

I got these because of a previous review.I was looking for inexpensive 1/4-20 thread spikes to replace my Acoustats feet.These threaded right in place of the old feet.Easy adjustment for correct height and your done.
They really helped the already good focus of sound stage and bass.Everything is tighter sounding and more sorted out. Got them the next day after ordering too. Doesn't get any better than that.
