These speaker spikes are more than pretty jewelry. Distributing the overall weight of the speaker cabinet on to 4 sharp points increases transmission loss, thereby increasing performance. My subwoofer cabinet sounded noticeably better after the installation of these spikes. Easy to install too!

The parts are gold-plated soft metal, and the fastening nut deforms if too much tightening. Once such deformity occurs, the part is useless, requiring an alternative nut whose threads accomodate the remaining assembly.

The spikes themselves are certainly sturdy. However, the finish looks more dime store than Tiffany's. I wanted them for solid wood speaker stands which were being built on commission with laminated bases and the "T" nuts will take some finesse to be able to implant in the solid wood. The goods themselves were acceptable value for the price, the international shipping was very high without the option of surface delivery which would have made this purchase more cost effective.
