Form and function combine in the single-gang switch plate design that integrates seamlessly into almost any room while remaining hidden. With so many source components available today, the WHIR4005's wide-band frequency reception is essential. A confirmation LED is built into the target's housing for system function verification which aids in troubleshooting. Three rear-mounted screw down terminals allow for quick, secure wire termination. Specifications: • IR frequency bandwidth: 30-100 kHz • Control range: Up to 30 ft. • Reception angle: ±45° off-axis • Dimensions: 2.75" H x 1.9" W x 1.3" D. Note: Wired Home IR hub, 12 VDC power supply, multi-conductor wire, and Wired Home emitters required for proper operation.

Keep away from LCD or Plasma TVs...

This product is sensitive to the IR waves that are generated when you turn on your LCD screen, so don't place it nearby. I installed mine 5" over the LCD TV, and am still trying to figure out if I can live with it - it works well most of the time, but every once in a while I have to aim below the TV to get a response. And the status LCD that lights up to confirm your command stays lit all the time now. Am seriously considering trading it in for part 182-530 instead http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partn umber=182-530

Otherwise, this works as specified, and might be better if you're using it for an audio stack.
