Wired Home WH8TH 8 Room Telephone Distribution Hub

It's a good little distribution hub. Too bad you have to pay 3-4 times as much for the box that it snaps into.

Good performance, easy to use. Doesn't require a power supply. The "On/Off" switch only controls the security system jack. The only nitpick I have with the unit is that unless you buy a structured wiring mount for it, you'll have a hard time mounting it. There are no keyhole slots.

The housing for this hub is very sturdy. It is designed for use in Wired Home panels. I installed it in a Leviton panel. The left side tabs line up with the holes in the Leviton Panel. You will have to drill new carefully spaced holes for the right side tabs and spring lock. Actually I built a new bracket to elevate this hub so that I could route RG6 and CAT 5 wiring behind it for a cleaner installation. In comparison to other telephone hubs this is of equal quality at a lower price than most. Punch down worked flawlessly.
