The EDA 2800 is designed to boost an incoming analog and digital off-air signals, as well as CATV signal by 4 dB over 8 ports. Expect nothing but the highest quality signal combined with the most reliable performance. The EDA 2400 features an industry benchmark for low noise at 3 dB, and the extra surge protection (XSP) has been rated at the IEEE 6 kV 3 kA combination wave standard for enhanced lightning protection. This test injects 35 times more energy than the level found in previous models, and guarantees durability that will stand the test of time. A waterproof housing and SCTE compliant 360° F-terminals ensure a nearly indestructible design, as do short-circuit protected wall adapters. Power verification is provided by a built-in confirmation LED. 10-year manufacturer's warranty. Spend lots of time researching whether an Active Splitter or an Amplifier is right for me. With 8 splits in my home an Amplifier if what I chose. Now for those who are not familiar with this Amplifier splitters. They fuction as signal booster. This means if you have any noise or bad signal to begin with you will make things worse. As in my case I have replaced all existing cable runs with all new RG6 coax all the way to the Tap. My signal was an amazing +10db. But no matter how good the singal was splitting it 8 way will degrade it severly. This Amplifier maintain my signals wonderfully and all my channels are crystal clear, even lower channels.
