Dayton Audio's DVM-HD15F DVI-A male to VGA (also known as an HD15 connector) female allows a computer's high-end video card with DVI output to be used with analog monitors and projectors that have an (S)VGA input. This adapter is PC and Mac compatible, supports resolutions up to 1600 x 1200, and meets the DVI DDWG standard for performance. Gold plated contacts resist corrosion for supreme signal transfer that stands the test of time.

For what it is this piece is just fine. It passes only the analog data to the D-shell connector. Technically it is the analog adapter. This does not give the user the digital interface they may believe they should receive. For that a full digital cable is needed as well as a digital input on the display device.
