Dayton 3.5SC-12 3.5mm Stereo Male To Male Cable 12 ft.

Over the past couple of years I have purchased a number of Dayton Audio products and I have been uniformly impressed and satisfied with all of them.

This cable is no exception; the one I bought recently is the second one I have purchased and I find this particular cable to be extremely well-made. My older one "just works" and it appears that the second one will do so too.

It is very heavyweight yet flexible and is as well put together as any so-called high-end cable that I have ever seen. It itself is high-end cable without the high-end price. The plugs are of extremely high quality and look like they will last to the end of time.

I might mention that I have found that it is necessary to tighten the plug fitting on both ends; with both of my cables the fitting was not tightened all the way. Once done, the fittings STAY screwed together tightly. It would also be helpful if some strain relief were incorporated.

But the above are really VERY minor quibbles in a product as well-made (and as well-priced) as this one.

At least in my own experience, if you see the name Dayton Audio on a product, you can buy it with confidence - confidence that it will be well-made and will represent an excellent value for money.

This is a nice heavy cable with a sturdy connector. Occassionally there's a glitching disconnect while someone moves around with the iPod Touch, but not so much the iPod Nano. That could be the ipod connector or the plug in this cable. Hard to say. The cable feels so solid it's difficult to say if the connection is nice and tight, but in a week of heavy use it's held up with only mild quirks.

I have always found Dayton to be one of those companies who seems to make products which are extremely good for the meager price they are asking. This cable is no exception. The plugs fit very snugly into 3.5mm jacks with no wiggle as some less expensive connectors sometimes have. I did notice while handling the cable that the back-shell one on plug was loose by a thread or two, but I screwed it back on and was good to go! I've given the cable a 4 in "Features" as it has no strain-relief.
