Dayton Audio Speaker Cables were designed for the latest advancements in technology found in high-end audio components using 14 AWG oxygen-free copper wire. These cables provide a high definition signal path that allows the detail in music to be transferred from the component to the speaker without any degradation. The result is extreme clarity for the listener and a performance that is demanded by audiophiles.

Features:
  1. Precision machined banana connectors with 8 expanded segments to assure a reliable connection.
  2. 24k Gold plating provides a non-corrosive, high conductive connection for superb signal transfer.
  3. Braided protective jacket protects cable from abrasion and reduces drag when routing to equipment.
  1. Outer jacket is molded around the conductors to protect them from damage and losing critical characteristics that maintain audio detail.
  2. Positive and negative conductors that are twisted tightly to reduce inductance and improve low level resolution.
  3. 14 Ga. OFC (oxygen free copper) conductors give the purest signal path and produces extreme clarity and crisp detail.

Very nicely done

Tom from Carrollton Texas

I'm slowly upgrading my AV system piece by piece. I recently upgraded my amplification to all Parasound amps and wanted to upgrade the interconnects as well. I purchased the Dayton cables for a couple of reasons... 1. I have purchased other Dayton cables and was familiar with the build quality and 2. the tech description was good enough to get an idea of the materials used.
Having said that I have to say that I have been in the electronics business since 1971 in one form or another. Some of that time was spent as part-owner and operator of a 24 track recording studio and in the professional sound reinforcement business. I have also been (and still am to some degree) in the consumer AV biz. The reason I bring this up is to put forth the idea that I HAVE NEVER considered it necessary (or reasonable) to buy high end cables. There is just no technical or audible reason or justification to spend thousands on cables.
What you should be ready to do , however, is spend more for interconnects that use top materials, quality connectors and good construction techniques built on sound scientific principles.
AND SO (finally! I'm sure you are saying :-) that is what you get with these cables. In addition to the center channel I also bought a pair of the 20' version.
After installing I did notice a difference between the 16ga in-wall cables that I had been using in terms of definition and possibly even staging.
The build quality was top notch. The materials and finish were very nice and look good enough to display. The only issue I had was the banana plugs were a loose fit in my center channel speaker. Easily fixed by expanding the plugs a bit so no big issue.
Overall as long as the cable runs are not excessive (over sixty feet) these 14ga speaker wires by Dayton should serve you well.
As long as you aren't the sort that insists on paying hundreds (or even thousands ) for speaker cables you should be well satisfied with the Daytons.

Happy Listening!
