CE Labs AV501HDX HDTV A/V Distribution Amp 5-Out

I am using this to distribute output from an A/V optical/coax digital component video switch to my main TV in my home theater, which is a Kuro, and across RG-6 cables with RCA plug adapters to my rumpus room, where I have a ProScan HDTV that does component and an older Kenwood stereo with a rear-channel decoder and a Geffen Dolby Digital decoder. The video on both TVs is excellent; on the Kuro, where some of the same sources are available on HDMI, I can't see much difference between the component and HDMI (a bit of motion blur- that's inherent in the difference between the HDMI and component formats) and it looks great on the ProScan. The sound from the Kenwood is great. I also have both the S-video and composite video versions from this manufacturer, and I expected nothing less from their performance. I'll buy another one of any of them without hesitation if I need to distribute more signals.

I bought the AV501HDX to split my HD DVR between my 55" LCD TV and my HD projector. At first I noticed no issues to the LCD TV, but when I used the projector, I noticed that any image with high whites (80-100 IRE) would bloom and loose detail in those areas. But there still was no issue with the LCD TV. I had used the looped output to feed the LCD TV so I decided to use one of the other outputs to feed the LCD TV. There was the problem. Anyhting with high whites would bloom. I took the unit back to Parts Express(I had no problem from them at all, wonderful company) and they swapped me with another unit. The same problem existed on this unit so I took the unit back and got a full refund. I just recieved another Distribution Amplifier from another manufacturer and have no issues what so ever. I have used CELabs other products with no problems and was really disapointed in this product.

Purchased this CELabs distribution amp to facilitate the installation of remote HD components for multiple room located HDTVs. Chose to use compontent video signal distribution for the primary runs since none of the current TVs have HDMI available. For a new HDTV expected purchase with HDMI for 1080p30/60 etc., I'm installing a CAT6 cable to use an HDMI Balun system for this specific unit. But for everythin except HDMI, this CELabs amp has all the necessary inputs/outputs for A/V with both composite video and coax audio, which most distribution amps lack. This unit was easy to install, and provides excellent signal quality, including over a 100' component video cable. Great product and excellent service from Parts Express! I've continued to shop here for additional products based on this excellent initial experience.
