Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket

I am rating the Wattgate 381 so low because I have conflicting opinions on it. Working as an electronics technician on high end business aircraft we needed a receptacle capable of filtering out the considerable noise found on the power distribution systes of aircraft. After installing these outlets we found that any laptop plugged into it had an extra terrabyte of hard disk space and ran 287.6% faster. Initial testing showed that on a flight from Wichita, Ks to Seattle, Wa our cruising speed inscreased by 80 knots and fuel consumption was reduced by an astounding 25%. However I write this review from a holding cell because being so impressed with the Wattgate 381's performance I decided to take one home to try. Once installed though my home theatre system ran with unparalleled clarity and performance I never could have dreamed of, the Wattgate notified the authorities that it had been stolen and the police showed up at my door within 45 minutes. I tried to explain that I merely borrowed the outlet to test at home before purchasing one, but it was to no avail. I now have no job, my wife has filed for divorce and after the Wattgate 381 testifies in open court I will have a criminal record.

I was suffering performance anxiety with my wife until I installed this product. Thankfully, things are perking up.

I hat rat problems in my walls and they eventually caused considerable damage to my electrical wiring. After a small fire forced us to live at my mother's house for the holidays, we got down to business to repairing the damage.

Of course I had to replace my wall outlets in my living room and decided I want the extra fire protection that the Wattgate 381 provides. So I ordered 4 and got a good deal!

When I plugged in my old Pioneer television, and turned it on, I discovered I now receive digital HDTV with free HBO!

The Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket is a must-have for any serious audiophile. The pristine sound it achieves is simply unbeatable by its non-cryogenically-treated counterparts. However, like so many other duplex sockets of its class, it falls short in one critical area: portability.
Despite it's state-of-the-art design, the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket must still be installed in a wall. It would be great to experience the unmatched audio-grade capabilities of this duplex socket on road trips or while jogging with an iPod. Looking forward to the next generation wireless model!

I bought the WATTGATE 381 AUDIO GRADE DUPLEX SOCKET to power the US Airforces Stargate at the Cheyenne in Colorado and WOW!!! We dialed out and made an instant connection the Pegasus Galaxy Stargate without even using a ZPM! I must say I am more than happy with my purchase of the WATTGATE 381 AUDIO GRADE DUPLEX SOCKET and will recommend it to all my friends and coworkers. Would make a great stocking stuffer present to my Asgard and Jaffa buddies!

I had the chance to work with these again so I thought I'd review them.

I give this product 5 out of 5 for Performance and Features, however, Value is another story. I design and build power supplies and most of what I build is completely isolated, meaning it can take a lightening strike without transmitting noise.

This product is silly because it's like taking a dump in your water supply, then drinking from it and wondering why it tastes funny. A gold plated plug at the end of the line isn't going to change the problems with the source.

If you really want to make a difference in your power line, I'll sell you gold plated fittings for the all the parts from the transformer on the hydro pole to special magical breakers in your panel box. Maybe we can even convince the power company to put gold plated connectors on their generators?

This is just a fancy product for people with more money then brains.

Make sure you read the entire manual-it's only 637 pgs long.

I ordered 74; one for every appliance in the house. I figured if it was good for a HT, it was good for a nitelite.

Suffice it to say that I was too excited to read the entire instructions and wired up all the outlets backwards, neutral to hot, etc. What the product description doesn't say, is that this puppy is smart enough to correct for DIY'ers. Apparently, it sends a discrete signal back through the electrical grid to the utility notifying them of a botched wiring job. If the utility doesn't contact you within 24 hours, the Wattgate 361a hires a local electrician on your behalf.

Was I ever relieved when a team of Wattgate certified electricians arrived to correct the situation. Unfortunately, Wattgate certified electricians charge over $1300 per receptacle. I don't blame them - they lost 3000 hours to the Wattgate 361a apprenticeship program. Here's the kicker: because I wired these myself, I voided the $119 3-week extended warrantee I paid on each one!

I am very impressed with the Wattgate 361a and the changes it has made in our lives:
Due to a total loss of hearing, I can't actually detect an improvement in sound quality, but I know it's there based on the fact that my speakers rarely collect dust
Our toast never burns, and our coffee maker now turns water into wine
The garage door opens so silently that my wife can now hear me smoking in the car from inside the house
On-line banking? The 361a automatically enters my PIN & prevents me from making an overdraft
Small woodland animals line-up on our window ledge to sing in perfect harmony with our alarm clock
Talking to my mother-in-law on the phone is now a joy in 7.1 Dolby TrueHD surround sound
All of our CFL light bulbs use 1/200th their rated power, have a CRI of 100, and now work on dimmers
In the past 7 months we have had the Wattgate 361a installed, the 14 day weather forecast on the HDTV has been perfect

I was about to reno/rewire an isolated ground to eliminate that pesky hum. Close call: your product's gold did the trick...saving me two scoops of hassle, and millions of dollars.

I didn t believe all the hype... but at this price (bought 4 to get the reduced pricing $561.32 + $25.00 shipping) I figured the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket was cheap enough to experiment with. Besides, 4 regular sockets at your local Home Depot would cost you around $12.50 and there is no multi-unit discount with them! So really I would have been crazy not to buy them...

I am a big-time Bass Fisherman. I would rather go Bass Fishing than anything. So it should come as no surprise that I bought the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket to go in my Bass Fishing boat.
It s kind of an old clunker though, 6 aluminum job. Single seater, with only a trolling motor for power. I installed a super cheapo fish finder a few years ago... it works ok in shallow water (knee-deep or less) as long as the fish are really big!

So I installed one of the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket to run the fish finder.
I didn t run any wiring to the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket I just cut a hole in the bottom of the boat and screwed it in.
I was afraid it would leak, but to my surprise it was completely water tight. In fact some other holes that used to be in the boat stopped leaking also...
Next thing I noticed was that the trolling motor that used to strain to push the boat along at 5 mph was now kicking up a 30 Rooster Tail behind me and was pushing the boat along at hydro-plane speeds approaching 300 mph.

And finally with the fish finder plugged directly into the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket I am making a fortune from all the sunken treasure that the fish finder is able to detect now!

...on a side note, me and the wife have been trying for 12 years to have a baby, well lo and behold I come home from a month long fishing trip and she informs me she is 2 weeks pregnant! Thanks Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket!!! You have made my life complete!!
