Warning: Read the manual; All seven volumes! Wednesday, November 18, 2009
99gecko from Antartica
Make sure you read the entire manual-it's only 637 pgs long.
I ordered 74; one for every appliance in the house. I figured if it was good for a HT, it was good for a nitelite.
Suffice it to say that I was too excited to read the entire instructions and wired up all the outlets backwards, neutral to hot, etc. What the product description doesn't say, is that this puppy is smart enough to correct for DIY'ers. Apparently, it sends a discrete signal back through the electrical grid to the utility notifying them of a botched wiring job. If the utility doesn't contact you within 24 hours, the Wattgate 361a hires a local electrician on your behalf.
Was I ever relieved when a team of Wattgate certified electricians arrived to correct the situation. Unfortunately, Wattgate certified electricians charge over $1300 per receptacle. I don't blame them - they lost 3000 hours to the Wattgate 361a apprenticeship program. Here's the kicker: because I wired these myself, I voided the $119 3-week extended warrantee I paid on each one!
I am very impressed with the Wattgate 361a and the changes it has made in our lives:
Due to a total loss of hearing, I can't actually detect an improvement in sound quality, but I know it's there based on the fact that my speakers rarely collect dust
Our toast never burns, and our coffee maker now turns water into wine
The garage door opens so silently that my wife can now hear me smoking in the car from inside the house
On-line banking? The 361a automatically enters my PIN & prevents me from making an overdraft
Small woodland animals line-up on our window ledge to sing in perfect harmony with our alarm clock
Talking to my mother-in-law on the phone is now a joy in 7.1 Dolby TrueHD surround sound
All of our CFL light bulbs use 1/200th their rated power, have a CRI of 100, and now work on dimmers
In the past 7 months we have had the Wattgate 361a installed, the 14 day weather forecast on the HDTV has been perfect
Thanks Wattgate!

My UN-BIASED review Monday, November 9, 2009
The BASSMAN from MS
I didn t believe all the hype... but at this price (bought 4 to get the reduced pricing $561.32 + $25.00 shipping) I figured the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket was cheap enough to experiment with. Besides, 4 regular sockets at your local Home Depot would cost you around $12.50 and there is no multi-unit discount with them! So really I would have been crazy not to buy them...
I am a big-time Bass Fisherman. I would rather go Bass Fishing than anything. So it should come as no surprise that I bought the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket to go in my Bass Fishing boat.
It s kind of an old clunker though, 6 aluminum job. Single seater, with only a trolling motor for power. I installed a super cheapo fish finder a few years ago... it works ok in shallow water (knee-deep or less) as long as the fish are really big!
So I installed one of the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket to run the fish finder.
I didn t run any wiring to the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket I just cut a hole in the bottom of the boat and screwed it in.
I was afraid it would leak, but to my surprise it was completely water tight. In fact some other holes that used to be in the boat stopped leaking also...
Next thing I noticed was that the trolling motor that used to strain to push the boat along at 5 mph was now kicking up a 30 Rooster Tail behind me and was pushing the boat along at hydro-plane speeds approaching 300 mph.
And finally with the fish finder plugged directly into the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket I am making a fortune from all the sunken treasure that the fish finder is able to detect now!
...on a side note, me and the wife have been trying for 12 years to have a baby, well lo and behold I come home from a month long fishing trip and she informs me she is 2 weeks pregnant! Thanks Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket!!! You have made my life complete!!

Only the bottom socket is Audio Grade Thursday, November 5, 2009
Brian from Laveen
The Wattgate 381 Audio Grade socket is the only proper socket to power a Shindo Masseto-based system. Audio grade components such as the Wattgate 381 provide superior voltage, current, and wattage as well. However, as you can see, only the bottom socket is labeled "Audio Grade". I would have gladly paid double for two audio grade sockets. As it is, I was forced to buy twice as many of the Wattgate 381.

Stunning Sound! Thursday, November 5, 2009
Jimmy from Duluth
When I plugged my headphones into the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket, I was instantly blown away by the improvement in sound quality! The amazing clarity of the cryogenic heat treat hardened contacts literally brought me to my knees. When I awoke in my own mess, I could still hear the crisp highs ringing in my ears. Skip the junk - get the best sound straight from the source - the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket!

Sub-par sockets, step aside! Monday, November 2, 2009
Audio & Video Enthusiast from Melbourne, Australia
I have to say, I was disappointed at first when the UPS man failed to deliver my Wattgate 381 socket without a signature. A few days later, I had that hot little baby in my hands. And ,oh what a difference from the older Wattgate 351 model! Wow.
A little more disappointment when I went to install the 381 and found that I did not have the proper metric Phillips screwdriver a short trip to Sears solved that. (IMHO- the website should tell you that you need a special tool or it should be included for a nominal fee.)
HOWEVER, once installed to run my home theater components, the difference was ASTOUNDING. Superb, clear audio & video crystal clear. I went and upgraded all of my home theater power cords to the side-prong 20A style so that I could benefit from the extra 5 amps. (O: Joules are a flowin ! In hind-sight, I should have upgraded to the Wattgate sockets years ago before upgrading my components.
I am a little disappointed in the one-year warranty for such a fine piece of technology, BUT , I am currently saving for 31 more to install in the rest of the house!

Need improvement Monday, November 2, 2009
Parts Express Customer from Unknown Location
After reading all the wonderful reviews, I purchased a Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket. However, the is a compatibility issue with my power cords. One of the prongs on those cords is a little longer than the other. If the longer prong is on the left side, then the Wattgate socket works great, but if the longer prong is on the right side it won't plug in. The Wattgate 381 should orient one of the sockets with the longer prong on the right in order to accommodate those cords.

Distortion Tuesday, October 27, 2009
Jose from Hollywood
I was looking for a type of an A/C socket that would limit amount of noise, EMI and harmonics coming from the surrounding electrical circuits. Having any type of resistance between in the power supply and electrical equipment allows an eddy current to flow creating a magnets flux. The harmonics in the third and fifth from this flux where causing the current and voltage wave to be asinusoidal. The noise was too much for my y-flux capacitor to deliver the necessary power to my amp. This plug would make all the differences in the world.

Completely out of this world Monday, October 26, 2009
Daniel Jackson from Cheyenne Mountain, CO
Before installing the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket, I was only able to pick up a few local radio stations on my HD receiver. The stations I could hear had a lot of static and where hard to listen to. Since installing the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket I can now pick up nearly ever station on the planet and even a classic rock station from Alpha Centuari system.
The 25% increase of amperage as well as the power sine wave interpolation without a doubt prove that the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket is worth at least five times the full retail price.
After some calculations I have determined that if were to use the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket to recharge my Prius, I will obtain close to a 35% increase in mileage using batteries alone.
I further hypotheroize that if one Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket was installed in every household in America the global carbon dioxide levels would be significantly reduced.

Absolutely unbeatable product. Monday, October 26, 2009

When you need the absolute best in duplex sockets, the Wattgate 381 Audio Grade Duplex Socket will deliver every time.
This beautiful little socket actually saved my marriage. You see, our 72 inch plasma TV and top of the line stereo system were simply too much for a normal duplex socket. Things stopped working, and when we were forced to actually interact with each other, it really started to put a strain on our relationship.
So naturally I sought guidance on the Google, and heard the stories of the legendary Wattgate duplex socket. Needless to say, the next day I replaced every socket in the house. Now everything works flawlessly, and we can happily drown each other out with all the great new reality TV shows.
Thanks, Wattgate.
