Just a warning to any novices that are thinking of buying this product -- these sockets conduct inordinate amounts of current. I would not recommend attaching this to your wiring without a voltage transformer. It only takes about five microfarads to kill.

AWESOME, I have been waiting forever for this product. Finally something to go with my custom vacuum sputtered unobtainium circuit breaker contacts and calibrated studio grade Romex. Now if I can just get the power company to get rid of those pesky scalar waves in my zero point energy transmission system, I'll be all set.

Since i installed those outlet all over my house my electrical bill went down 0$ a mounth, this is so incredible those outlet conduct the electricity so easily.

I was about to upgrade my power amplifier because of lack of power holly macro this outlet make my lloyd 20 watts feels like a Crown Itec 8000 a piece of junk, bass is so much tighter and i'm not even talking about the tweeters, i blew all the windows in my living room, i have to concider to install amoured windows now.

I do installations all the time so I get to use products that I don't have to pay for myself. The last job I did the home owner wanted a few of these. I don't get what good a 100 receptacle is and a $2000 power cord is when the wire in the wall is still NMD90? If you are going spend this amount of money you might as well go high grade the whole way. (Kind of like dropping a V12 engine in a Ford Tempo?)

The internal components are really no different then more expensive receptacles you can buy from a hardware store. The difference being that they are brass and gold plated...

Anyway, they work well for what they are.

As an audiophile, I've been a big fan of worthless add-on's and cash sucking doohickys for many, many years. I have an innate trust in the goodness of the market to guide me in making proper product decisions, such as my Shakti Stones and green ink CD marker pens that I keep next to the Tice Clock. An entire industry has been built on the backs of guys like me, and I'm damned proud of that. Damned proud.

But now I'm even more happy because the Wattgate has raised my audiophile experience to a whole new level of authority and acumen. After spending over $2,000 on new outlets, the difference I hear is nothing short of stunning and astonishing. Music sounds more like music. Quiet sounds more like quiet. The current flows so much more efficiently with these new outlets. Do they provide less resistance, less capacitance, and less inductance than my old outlets? No - but that is not the point. The point is that they sound SO MUCH BETTER.

Yes, these are heady times we live in. I'm so happy to have more stuff that greatly enhances the quality of our lives together. I just wish that all of you could HEAR what these outlets sound like.

The Wattgate 381 Best Product Ever

When I first saw this marvel of technology I said to myself "I've got to replace all of my traditional outlets in my house with the amazing Wattgate 381." After purchasing the 22 new Wattgate 381s and installing them myself to save money because I'm thrifty, I realized I no longer have money to pay my bills. I now have 10 days to vacate and my power has been off for over a week. It's getting really cold and dark at home and I can only use the library computer for an hour before they make me go back outside. But I'm sure glad I have these swell new Wattgate 381's, they are sooo pretty and bright that I leave the outlet covers off to catch the glow from them. I bet they work really good too. You can see the reflection of my wife's tears in them if you lay on the floor near where the dog used to sleep before he ran away for warmer climate. I like to plug different things into the WattGate 381 and make sounds like we have electricity. The Wattgate 381 has claimed to be cryogenically tested and I have no doubts as it is nearly -5 degrees inside and they still look marvelous. My hour is up and maddog said it's his turn on the computer, I'm going home to my Wattgate 381s before he pees on me again.

Having experienced disappointing results from the trickle charger used on our lawn tractor, I asked my neighbor (an audiophile, Radon remediation expert and climatologist)for advice. Without hesitation, he directed me to these outlets. The results have been simply AMAZING. After installing a fresh battery and a Wattgate outlet, the charger seems to work much, much better. My friend assures me that the Wattgate outlet delivers clean UNDISTORTED 60Hz power so that the linear circuitry of my $25.00 charger can deliver as it should. It MAY be my imagination, but I believe that even the headlamps provide better definition now..., no doubt a consequence of the CLEAN charging current. Thanks Wattgate!

Sleeping Like a Baby from Unknown Location

I used my first Wattgate 381 to plug in my alarm clock, and I no longer toss and turn with worry that my alarm won't ring, and there is a richness of sound from the AM tuner that is remarkable. We bought 4 more, great price break, before Christmas, plugged in our tree, and it sparkles like never before. We gave one as a gift to my audiophile brother-in-law, who is always anxious that a cryogenically induced failure will damage his expensive equipment, and our generosity left him, "speechless".

Read the review behind this one. That guy needs his head checked. Cleary there is a reason and need for licensed electricians. Please do not do what he did. Your life (or someone else's)may depend on it.

This is a great product but extremely overpriced.
For all but the very few this product will not be a noticeable upgrade or improvement to your viewing or listening pleasure. Put your hard earned money toward a line surge protector/line conditioner first. You will be much happier with the results....

I have nothing but praises for this Wattgate Socket.

I did not install it in the wall as most probably do, but laid it out on the floor so I and my friends could admire its gold plating. I do not have children but my Miniature Schnauzer seems awfully scared by its wonderous beauty. He will not go near it, and that is good.
I once dropped a piece of tinfoil on it and its emissions lit up the room. The energy it released was such a powerful, spiritual event! I have tried several times since and have yet to observe the event with the same intensity.

Such a performer, this Wattgate!

never mind the 10 cent a foot romex wire that is connecting your new 150 dollar socket to the power from your breaker box. might as well replace all of the wiring in your house from that cheap copper solid core romex wire to monster cable! hee hee

dont forget to buy new 3.00 breakers too since the power will flow through those as well. hey while you are at it, tell the power company to stop running that power through those cheap power lines too.

I have a fine tuned tube amp. based system. My Ac cords already incorporate Wattgate plugs. I used this one to replace the Hospital grade one I was using in the wall. This new plug truly redefined the experience from listening my sound system. I get more deeper base and also additional details in the overall spectrum.

If your system is already fine tuned, it will make a significant improvement.

I just replaced every receptacle in my house with these, I cant believe how much better everything works, I especially notice a difference in the tone of the hum in my fish tank, and I get alot more bass in the beeper on the alarm on my microwave oven!!! I have also noticed that my vacuum cleaner has better midrange now. My friends are impressed!!!!

Behind acoustic treatment, AC power is the second most under-invested aspect of home theater. That said, is the electrical outlet one of the first 15 things to optimize in a home theater? Probably not. However, if you are building a dedicated listening room or home theater, why not install the best? Through the next 100 iterations of your home theater, this outlet will still be there doing its humble but critical job perfectly.

Barnum was an optimist. If you are really looking for a good duplex oulet, purchase a hospital grade outlet. They have a 30lb pull out rating and are specification grade. Gold is not the best electrical conductor, just wont corrode.

Why in the world would you ever need a gold plated 120VAC duplex receptacle? This device doesn't carry any signal, and any voltage loss from oxidation would be so minimal as to be unnoticeable. Your money would be better spent buying a Furman power conditioner if you're that worried about line voltage issues. This is just another example of the silliness that is so pervasive amongst audio installations. I'm an electrical engineer who repairs professional audio equipment for Broadway theaters. Gold plating is pointless unless the signals have very minimal voltages. Gold plating is even more ridiculous for line power items.

If you are building your own audiophile power cord to improve component performance, you need the WattGate 381 receptacle. Why build a performance power cable only to plug it into the same receptacle that's been in use for almost 100 years? WattGate's 381 is a no compromise solution for the demanding AV enthusiast. Construction of the 381 is top-notch and features glass-filled, nylon front and rear housings. Mounting strap, rivets and grounding strip are gold plated, solid brass for the ultimate in corrosion resistance and power transfer. Installation of the 381 is simple and efficient due to rear wiring and large, #10 brass terminal screws. Terminal clamps are gold plated, solid brass and shaped to better grip the conductors. Like the 330 and 350, the 381 leaves the competition behind with its contacts. Configured in a triple-wiper design allows the plug blades to be gripped at three separate points. Additionally, the heavy-duty contacts maximize the clamping spring-rate and ensure conductivity.
