A Nice Crossover Cap...Requires Burn-in... Monday, June 30, 2008
Supercool! from NY/USA
Crisp, bright top end is my initial impression. Took about 10 minutes to NOT sound horrible. I've got about 10 hours on them now and they display good attack characteristics and clear upper midrange (crossed at 4 K w/ 5uf) but still a little bright so I really think the 100 hours break in I've heard about is accurate. Lacking some depth of image but this is also probably a break-in issue. Check audio asylum for pics of application on old retro GE speakers (look under Supercool! in Vintage Asylum). Amazing what a good cap and re-wire can do to an older el cheapo speaker.
