We've used Belkin cables for years. Never had a bad cable .

This product is excellent in most respects, notably its small and flexible cable.

The retention clip protection is effective but not the best design for protection. It may, however, be an optimal design because by leaving the free end of the retention clip somewhat 'open' it allows good tactile feedback. Protection schemes that use a flexible molded boot over the free end of the clip provide better protection at the expense of poorer tactile feedback.

This tactile feedback is very important for determining how much force is actually being placed on the clip by the thumb (may prevent breaking by overstressing in 'stuck' conditions) and allows good confirmation that a positive retention has been engaged.

I like this design overall and its low cost make it a compelling buy.
