DISCONTINUED Sound Dampening Sheet 29" x 32"

I used the Parts Express sound dampening material to reduce the annoying audible 60Hz. hum level of an 2Kva. isolation transformer. The transformer was mounted in a steel metal case, and was producing an noticeable audible hum.

I lined the insides of the metal enclosure with the sound dampening sheet material. It was easy to apply and remaines firmly in position over time. The material also easily withstands the heat produced by the transformer.

The hum level is now inaudible at distances greater than 3 ft. in a quiet room. This material has provided a satisfactory solution to an annoying noise problem.

I used this to line the inside of my trunk- mounted sub box. It was easy to work with, and has a nice strong adhesive. It did a nice job deadening the MDF. I also used it to dampen some of the trunk sheetmetal, and to cover/protect some wiring. I like the product, it is very similar to what the automotive OEM's use for sound control.
