Excellent Inductor Monday, April 20, 2009
Craig from Houston, Texas
I bought this inductor to build me an speaker impedance compensation network for my 8 ohm speakers that have 2 5.25" woofers, and 1 0.75" doom tweeter to incorporated with my speaker's existing crossover network that have a manufacture design flaw that causes tweeters to burn out with an 80 watt per channel audio amplifier that was caused by low impedance at the tweeter upper audio frequency range, and my speakers are suppose to be rated at 150 watts. My 8 ohm speakers from 5000 Hertz to 20000 Hertz drops down from 8 to 3.3 ohms impedance in which my speakers sound very tiny like too much treble and it cause my tweeter to fail.
I use this 100uh inductor to for my speaker's impedance compensation network incorporated with my design flaw crossover, and I ran my 80 watt per channel audio amplifier for 8 hours at maximum power, and that 100uh inductor performed very well, and it did not even get warm; plus it gave my speakers a excellent loud sound without too much tiny or treble sound, and my tweeter didn't blow out.
If you're planning to build passive crossovers or impedance compensation networks for 150 watt speakers in the tweeter section, this type of inductor is excellent to use.
