DISCONTINUED Sonic Impact 5066 T-Amp 30W Portable Amplifier

pretty amazing device...turns audio world a bit upside-down. Looking forward to more low cost tri-path amplifiers and cards

I have purchased 3 of these amps and all have consistently produced very clean and articulate sound. I went to purchase 2 more but they were unavailable. Considering their performance I went ahead and purchased 2 of the Gen2 amps. Will post review after I get to use them. I used these to power a set of transmission lines using the budget line of Tang Band W3's, some high spl drivers and another set of lower spl drivers.. The amp had no problems powering any of them. And if you are wondering, they can get much louder than you think! In fact I have never turned the dial past 3/4, ever! If you are looking for a very clean amp with excellent soundstage and seperation this is it! I am now considering purchasing 4 of the super T-amps for a 7.1 home theater application.

OK, I have no comprehension as to what audiophiles think they hear from this amp. But then I'm one of those heretics who advocates statistically valid double blind testing, too...

Irrespective, I am an audio enthusiast and musician, and in the past 30 years I've spent tens of thousands in pursuit of quality sound. I have to say this little amp is handy, sounds good and is actually pretty sturdy, despite the plastic case. I drive my power hungry Maggies in a music system and it works. I drive my Athenas in an A/V system and it works even better. Even tried it in my guitar rig... I'll stick with my tube amp there.
Anyway, good product. I bought another for the office.
