Excellent Bang for the Buck Tuesday, December 1, 2009
Craig S. from Kingstree, S.C.
This is the second one of these I own. We purchased this one to compliment the high end mains on our small sound system we use. This sub makes our sound system sound like we spent thousands of dollars to get the sound this good and rich.
For those who have previously complained that the sound is "muddy", with all respect due, they need to learn to use the adjustable low pass frequency filter to trim out some of the high end bass. If you allow this sub to double-up on the low-end frequencies already being produced by your existing sound speakers, OF COURSE it's going to sound muddy. Trim the adjustable frequency filter down to the proper cross-over point, and you're going to not only hear but FEEL the difference this sub can make. We have found that once you assign this sub it's rightful frequencies, it does and outstanding job of filling out your low end.
And, as in my previous review, remember to simply rotate this unit 90 degrees from its existing one if you don't find the bass as full as you'd like to hear it. One other great suggestion is to place it in an unused corner of the room, perhaps behind a recliner, where the bass frequencies can travel both walls like an exponential horn. This positioning in a room can also add to the bass effect. Proper placement, positioning, and frequency by-pass tuning will all play a roll in how satisfied you become with this sub. There is NO REASON I have found for anyone not to be completely satisfied with this sub....especially for this price!!!

Wow! Wednesday, November 25, 2009
Oddsare from Maine
For the money this sub cannot be beat. For a small to medium size room this sub hits very hard. For a bigger roo, piggy back two of rthem together and it will provide plenty of low end for a still low price. I own an 8 year old KLH cheapy sub with a 10" and the same exact power amp that is in this unit. The difference in performance between the two is amazing. This unit with the 12" speaker is so much clearer and punchier. Very impressed with this unit!

Best Bang for the Buck Around Sunday, November 15, 2009
Craig S. from Kingstree, South Carolina
I first purchased this sub for my 5.1 home theater system. Upon initially hooking it up and turning it on, I was not impressed with the unit. Then, one day on a fluke while moving the sub around, I left it turned sideways, 90 from it's normal front-firing. Now, it fires left and right. You would not believe the difference this made in my large den. Now, I don't have to crank it up to get thunderous bass. Don't write off the 150 watt amp until you've tried moving this sub around the room, and tried turning it 90 from your normal position until you find the sweet spot for your particular application and room. We have also used this sub to compliment our PA system for our singing group and it more than filled a 250 seat auditorium with sound as well. This sub rounded out the bottom end for our system and made it sound like a system that would cost a LOT more! This sub is definitely the best bang for the buck around! Thanks for the great quality and sound Dayton!
