QSC GX3 Power Amplifier

Nicely built amp. Used it to push 6 8ohm speakers with ease. Wish it had a switch to allow user to switch between the different inputs.

This QSC GX3 power amplifier is used to drive a variety of loads, including the difficult-to-drive AR-LSTs, ADS L1590s and stacked Bose 901 systems, sometime running on a continuous basis for hours on end at high-output power. I also used the amplifier for loudspeaker testing, and it works well for this requirement, too. On music-program material, the Class B amp runs effortlessly at high power, and it runs cool with the fairly quiet variable-speed fan. The output power up to clipping is very clean and undistorted, there is plenty of headroom (+2dB), and the unit is amazingly compact to produce so much clean power (up to 400+ watts/channel into 4 ohms). I use this amp in conjuction with a similar Crown unit, and both amplifiers seem to be indestructible. The build quality on QSC amps is very high, and QSC offers an extended warranty on their amps -- even when used professionally -- that is hard to beat. I highly recommend this amplifier! --ARHPG

Using this to power house audio; about 25 ceiling 6.5 Dayton contractor series. Distribution is thru Dayton 10-zone passive with compensated volume controls. I have no idea what the overall load is, but I'm guessing below 2 ohms. No clipping; solid sound. It can get loud. Doesn't seem to be overheating, but it gets warm and the fans spool up. I feel much better giving my receiver's onboard 'zone 2' a much needed retirement.

Small con: Limited HP/LP filter; the amps' 2-way design doesn't support the same filtering on both channels.

Love the RCA inputs; no special cabling required.
