LCD TVs and CFL lighting emit radiation that disrupts IR commands sent from remote controls to standard IR receivers. Xantech, the company that invented IR distribution, has developed their LCD/CFL proof shelf-top IR receiver to be immune to this interference and work well in the presence of sunlight. Wide bandwidth IR reception allows this receiver to be compatible with virtually all IR products on the market—even those made by competitors. System testing is accomplished via a built-in talkback LED. Seven ft. of ribbon cable terminates to a three conductor 3.5 mm connector for power, ground, and signal transfer. This kit includes one LCD/CFL proof shelf-top IR receiver, one 789-44 connecting block, one 781RG power supply, and four 283M mouse emitters. IR Receiver Specifications: *Frequency reception: 30-60 kHz, adjustable *Reception range: up to 70 ft. *Power requirements: 12 VDC, 20 mA *Dimensions: 1" H x 2" W x 3-1/4" D.

I use these all the time for my customers who want to hide thier media. The only drawback is sometimes the repeater eye falls off and I need to put better double stick tape on. I wouldn't let this small problem stop someone from buying this

What a sweet little unit. Truly plug and play; had it hooked up and working in 15 minutes. So far no problems with sun, lights, or LCD screen either. Receives remotes from very wide angles and distances ... receives even if remote is pointing away from sensor head!
