A Great Start On A Sub! Tuesday, January 13, 2009
www.dcaudiolabs.com from Burleson, Texas
A well made box to start your next sub project with. The description could have been better but I found the box to be well constructed with heavy 3/4 MDF. It has one good cross brace in it. You will probably want to ad more bracing, like I did, to make it even better!
I used my box with a 15" Dayton RSS390HO driver, a Dayton 500 watt plate amp in a dual 3" outboard vented design, similar to an HSL type sub. This netted very good results for a fantastic low end of 25hz F3!! After a little more internal bracing, the box vibration was still relatively- low even at high power levels!
The shipped finish was nice, as was the grill frame and cloth. I finished my cabinet with a couple of protective coats of satin Polyurethane for an excellent final finish.
For the $$$ spent it saved valuuable time with minimal effort used to finish bracing the insides and fitting up the driver and plate amp! I would but this product again!

Extraordinary Quality for Under $200 Wednesday, December 3, 2008
ScaenaPipes from Los Angeles
It is extremely well finished & better than I imagined given the price.
It CAN hold an 18" driver without using the grill. It probably requires active crossovers as 3cuft is too small for a good cabinet QTC.
You MUST use 2x4 bracing on 4 sides & even gluing pre-cut wooden squares on the insides is recommended as it is too thin a wood (3/4") for no boom in the cabinet.
Once braced, wood applied to naked insides & ported for a subwoofer, sealed for a mid/bass, it's really quite a deal.
Don't hesitate but remember bracing, adding mass to the walls & use wool or cotton damping as acrylics are transparent below 100hz or so. No acoustastuff either. Buy a cotton bale. Worth every penny acoustically.
Much cheaper than it should be. GREAT product.

Super product Thursday, June 21, 2007
Johnd from Las Vegas, Nv
Just as advertised, air-tight, solid construction and tough quality finish. I needed 2 passive, sealed subwoofers for those long low bass passages in movies; combined with the right 15" speaker, rack mounted sub amp and a few parts I've got what I wanted and more. A cabinet maker cut the speaker holes and I did the rest. Absolutely no resonating or distortion, it's just want I wanted. They even look good.
