Dayton Audio's T1203 12" Titanic MKIII Subwoofer System combines power and musicality, and offers excellent all-around performance for serious home theaters or music listening setups. The modestly sized enclosure will fit into most rooms, yet the system's deep and powerful bass will dramatically enhance any application. A powerful HPSA500 500 watt amp and long-excursion Titanic MKIII driver allow this system to achieve in-room SPLs of 110 dB, with output down to 25 Hz. Amplifier features stereo line-level as well as LFE input, variable low-pass crossover, full parametric EQ, and auto on/off. Also available fully assembled.
  • Superior construction
  • 45 day money back guarantee
  • 1 hour assembly
  • 5 year driver and 1 year amplifier warranty
  • Dimensions: 17" W x 17" H x 17-1/4" D
Dayton Audio designed the Titanic MkIII subwoofer kits to give you the performance you demand, at a price that makes plain common sense. Why buy a mass-market subwoofer that often has a markup of well over 10 times the cost of the parts? If you are lucky, you are getting a $20 woofer and a $20 amplifier. With the Titanic subwoofer kits, you know exactly what you are getting -- nothing but the best in cabinets, drivers, and amplifiers.

Each system features one of our legendary Titanic MkIII subwoofer drivers -- U.S.A.-built behemoths known for their excellent build quality and awesome low frequency performance. The driver is precisely mated with a high-power Dayton Audio amplifier that exploits the woofer's massive potential and provides the best sound quality and highest output levels.

Driver and amp are housed in a rigid, acoustically inert 3/4" MDF enclosure featuring an internal brace, a special satin-textured enamel finish, 1/4" roundovers on all edges, and a 1" thick MDF grill. Black chrome spikes, included with the system, rigidly couple the cabinet to the floor for improved bass clarity and output, while also adding a very classy and elegant touch. The finished systems are unobtrusive in appearance, but deliver awesome bass performance that is truly "titanic" in proportion.

Titanic systems are available in an easily assembled kit form that requires a few basic hand tools and approximately one hour to complete. A subwoofer driver, amplifier, and custom cabinet are included, along with instructions and all necessary hardware. The cabinet itself is ready-to-go because the hard work has already been done: driver cutout, amplifier cutout, pre-installed T-nuts for driver mounting, and pre-installed T-nuts for the floor spikes.

Overall a great powered sub
Wednesday, June 17, 2009
chris from hampton,virginia

Iam really happy with this powered sub,There is nothing cheap about it. All materials, including the cabinet and damping material are a quality product. The sound is excellent tight and accurate. The amp is very quiet and runs cool.I originally had the a/c cord plugged into the wall outlet and had a lot of hum noise, but i then plugged it into my surge protector and it all went away. The only negative thing is the grill dosent clear the woofer, but iam pretty handy and can fix that.I would definitly recommend it.

Excellent Sound, Plenty of Power, Very Nice Sub
Tuesday, December 23, 2008
Ken from Charlotte, NC

I have purchased a couple of subs in the past for around the same price (Definative, Velodyne)
The crisp solid sound and power beats them hands down.

I can only say one negative thing. When building the sub one of the pre-drilled holes did not line up. Tighten down all the others real tight and left it out.

I have and will recommend to my friends.

Paradign Servo-15 or Titanic Mk III?
Thursday, January 24, 2008
John from Champaign, Illinois

This sub was purchased for another user, however, it became my enjoyable task to construct the kit.

Currently this 12" sub is setting right next to my Paradigm Servo-15 purchased a number of years back. I have not come to definitive conclusions avout preference after about 20 hours of listening (after all the Titanic should be broken in before the user receives). The Paradigm Servo-15 does go to a lower frquency, however, there are distinct differences in sound between the two subwoofers. The short is the Titanic is much tighter and offers much higher transient response giving drums and other base instruments very high definition. Base is certainly deep enough on most music. In contrast the Paradigm does sound a little less "colored", almost as if the enclosure were much stiffer. The sound is not as tight, almost mushy by comparison to the Titanic subwoofer. As mentioned before though the bass extends deeper which is clearly heard on albums such as Titanic where there are true bass notes in the low 30's hertz range. The titanic offers very good value and does compare very well to more expensive subwoofers per my brief and limited comparison.
