Bash 500W Digital Subwoofer Amplifier

I used this amplifier to power a 10" Dayton Reference HO driver in a .6 CU FT enclosure ported to 35 hz. The results were nothing short of jaw-dropping. After breaking the sub in and setting the gain to about 1/4 of max, the sub simply overpowered the other speakers and was way too loud (in a good way). I settled on leaving the gain just above the lowest the dial goes and it is perfect. Clean, loud, and can reproduce the lowest of frequencies. In hind-sight, the 300 watt model would have been more than enough as I think these amps outperform their rated specs. No ground hum, no turn on pop, just pure bass as it was meant to be heard. The crossover section is also excellent as I heard no noticeable difference switching between it and the LFE output from the receiver.

Can't turn it up past half for my sub can't handle the power.

I have an original Bash amplifier marketed by AMT and labeled Ampzilla. This unit is the 300 watt version of Bash technology. It has powered a 15" driver in a 6 cubic foot box for over 8 years and performed admirably. I decided to try the 500 Watt version and cannot believe what I hear and feel. The unit runs very cool and there is no audible hiss. There is no pop when it turns on and belts out bass. A rough measurement using a tone generator and a sound meter gave me 114 DB @ 50HZ with the control in the middle position. The unit then kicked it up another few DB when cranked. Satisfied I returned the controls to center and watched Transformers....WOW! Buy this unit if you ever need to replace a sub amp or build your own. PS> Made in Canada
