The Dayton Reference Series subwoofers take the quality and performance of the much acclaimed RS line into the subwoofer realm. As with the rest of the Reference Series, the main focus of these subwoofers is ultra-low-distortion. Second, third, and intemodulation distortion are kept extremely low by utilizing three short-circuit paths within the motor structure. A durable aramid fiber spider and extensive venting throughout provide quiet and uniform excursion. The black anodized cone, rubber surround, and custom basket give this driver a unique, high-end look. Choose the high output version for automotive applications or for equalized high-power home subwoofers.

Excellent acoustic reproduction Tuesday, October 6, 2009 Parts Express Customer from Unknown Location
I got this sub to bolster the bass in my car (Volvo 240 Station Wagon) and was overwhelmed with how awesome it is. I've listened to tons of different systems from tons of different places and while this sub doesn't "kick" as hard as a lot of the other more popular brands (although put on some Bonecrusher or DJ Magic Mike and it will blow people away), the quality sound it produces is phenomenal. I've been using it for over a year now and I'm still hesitant on how high it can go and how awesome it can be. Audio equipment like this tends to be the same as a great pair of headphones and an amplifier: you start to listen to music that has excellent sound reproduction because you notice flaws in recording and it drives you nuts!
I recommend this sub to anyone!

Improved my old sub 100% Monday, August 10, 2009 Jeff from Allen, TX
I bought this subwoofer to replace a 12 inch sub in an cabinet with a 300 watt amp. First of all the one I took out, weighed about a quarter of what this one weighed. It is a down facing Cabinet so I thought it may just blow out of the cabinet. AIS BEEt hn pumping for about 3.5 months now and the cabinet has survived. Great Product! Saved me a fortune on a new Subwoofer in an enclosure.

My only disappointment is that I paid to have it shipped here to Taiwan just to find it was made here!
