This multi purpose, noise reduction material actually absorbs the vibration of any solid material. It is made of a mineral filled asphalt polymer that transforms vibrational energy into thermal energy (low level heat). The flexible nature of the damping sheets enables it to mold and conform to irregular surfaces. They can be cut using a standard razor knife and are self adhesive for easy peel / stick application. Can handle continuous temperatures -30° to 350° F. Thickness: .070".
Automotive
You can reduced interior noise levels 3-10 dB by applying the damping sheets to the door panels, firewall, floor pan, trunk lid or any interior sheet metal panel. Top performers in car audio competitions know that a reduction of 3 dB in the interior noise level is like doubling your effective amplifier power! Installing damping sheets will improve the total ride quality of any automobile!
Home Theater
Can be used as a constrained layer between two sheets of drywall (sheetrock) to reduce wall resonance and control noise and vibration in home theater and Hi Fi listening rooms.

Very good product for the money, works Thursday, September 6, 2007 Jim M. from Exton, Pa
The dampening sheet works well. Excellent value for the money. I have used the same product for 3 different vehicles at this point and has worked well. The only problem is the glue will fail when product is used upside down as under a rear speaker shelf. I typically spray 3M panel and trim adhesive right on top of existing adhesive and if possible on panel. Wait a few minutes and apply sheet. If this is done properly the sheet will never fail. I have had product still well adheared after 5+ years in a vehicle.
