Top Of The Line Sunday, November 1, 2009
Jeff from Santa Rosa Ca.
I have built many speaker systems over the past 30 years and used several dome tweeters. My conclusion is VIFA and nothing else. Either the silk domes, 3/4, 1" and the alum. 1" as this one, you can't go wrong. You get smooth, top end, crisp. Just use a 12dB xover and you did it right the first time. Believe my, I'm picky about my top end response and performance and VIFA does it every time. Why do you think P.E. carries them? Because they are the best way to go.

Not harsh at all - Using in Nearfield 2-way Tuesday, August 4, 2009
Mike Marion from Valencia, CA
I was shocked at first at how 'polite' these tweeters are. (Almost not liking them at first!) I worked at a PSB dealer in the early 90s and sold the Stratus Gold ($2000/pr) and they used a very similar tweeter. But I guess I had forgotten just how smooth the Vifa's are. I really love this tweeter in my nearfield application. There are not too many tweeters that I'd want to hear at 100 watts from only an arms length away. I have been running them for 8-months in a 2-way design with only a 6db/oct xover at 1320hz with no problems.

Great tweeter. However... Thursday, December 25, 2008
Jeff from CA
I've used this tweeter in a few loudspeaker projects and now consider it my favorite. No ringing, very transparent, & great imaging. In short, one of the least expensive truly high-end tweeters available. However, the trick to making this tweeter sound great is in the crossover. For me, standard formulas didn't work with this tweeter. With quite a bit of "trial & error", I determined a complimentary 6dB/octive crossover: 4mf cap & simple attenuation to bring the tweeter down 2dB below the mid-woofer efficiency. Mid-woofer crosses over just below 1800Hz, 6dB/octive. I know, the math doesn't work, but it sounds right. Very right, in fact!
