Speaker Gasketing Tape 1/8" x 3/8" x 50 ft. Roll

I bought this to seal a new pair of woofers. The tape appears and feels very professional. I gues I expected it to be similar to weatherproofing tape, but it much higher quality. It's much more dense and rubbery, but still compresses well. I had heard that caulk can be messy, so I was glad to find this was very easy to install. Here's a tip that may help others. Keep the roll in between the two cardboard layers that it comes in. Lay it on a flat surface. Lay the speaker next to it. Take the end of the tape, stick it to the rim of the speaker, and slowly start rotating the speaker. Make the roll of tape rotate too, while peeling off the backing. A bit like a cassette tape rolling the tape from one spool to the other. That worked like a charm, ad it went on with no kinking at all. I was very impressed with how it performed. Can't wait to use it on something else - there was plenty to do two 10" woofers.

This is probably a good gasket for a woofer, but not for a tweeter. It made my tweeter stick out really far from the cabinet and I ended up putting caulk in between the cabinet and tweeter faceplate anyway. I would recommend just using black caulk. I wish I didn t use this product. Oh yeah- don t even try to wind this back up in a nice spool after you open the package. It s impossible.

Easy to use, fast and provides an effective seal that remains effective if you have to remove and replace the speaker more than once.
