Behringer CX3400 Super-X Pro Crossover 3-Way/4-Way

When I first received one of these I thought it sounded good. (It was my first active cross-over.) When it went in for repair I picked up a used Rane AC22. It was a night and day difference. The Rane in comparison had a really solid characteristic to its sound that the CX3400 did not have. I received a new CX3400 as a replacement under warranty and re-installed it in the system to verify that it worked. I found its sound unacceptable after I got used to the Rane. I will never use it if I have another option.

The CX3400 may have one practical use: Using it with very muddy speakers. It has a very thin even brittle and weak sound to it. I've used it to give a more pleasing and clear perceived sound on a very muddy systems lacking high frequency energy and having excessive low mid energy (A System without an EQ). This is the only scenario I would possible recommend this unit for.

Really great crossover. sounds clear. lots of adjustability. Definatley a great price! You can't beat this!

This is a great unit for the price. Your bass will pound and your highs will scream exactly the way YOU want them to. Setup is so easy that my little brother could do it.I f you get it you will not be disappointed.
