Speaker Mounting Top Hat Steel For 1-3/8"

This top hat has a plastic plug on top of the socket to seal it. When you place your speaker cab on a stand, the plug is pushed out by the stand's post. Voila! You now have an air leak in your cab (unless you have the cab on a stand).

Of course, you could open up the cab and push the cap back into place every time you need to use the cab without a stand... but who needs that?

This confirms another buyers observation below.

This one is made in Taiwan. Not a Penn-Elcom, (USA), though this Parts Express (PE) product use to come from Penn-Elcom. I have the old metal one from Penn Elcom. This is the only PE only 1-3/8 top hat that PE now sells. I go and find the original Penn Elcom before I put this guy in my 70lb speaker.
