Parts Express Speaker Crossover 3-Way 8 Ohm 800/5,000 Hz 100W

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good PriceI've bought several of these crossovers over the years, the last time I bought them they had 50v caps. I'm glad PE upgraded the caps to 100v. I recommend replacing the 3.3uf electrolytic caps with Dayton poly 3.3uf caps, they really make a difference with the mids and highs. One star off becasue the actual crossover points are 630 Hz and 4300 Hz

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great valueI was not expecting too much other than basic functionality from these crossovers since these are after all the most economical units parts express sells. However they seem to be doing an excellent job in My budget 3-way speaker project. The only caveat being that driver selection is critical since the cross over points are fixed. So be sure to match your speakers.Or pay a little more and get the units that allow you to choose the crossover points for the mids and tweets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value. For twenty bucks you can't beat it. A hand-built crossover with higher quality parts will sound better, but I'll say it again- for twenty bucks, you can't beat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow!I have an old set of 3-way cabinets and I needed new crossovers. I decided on these mainly for their low cost. These arrived at my house in 3 days. I hooked them right up and they sounded great out of the box. I only have on question. Should I remove the tape from around the coils? Great product Parts-Express!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid, well made crossoverI had built a pair of two way speakers, using a PE 260-174 crossover, 8" woofer (292-428) & 4" tweeter (270-018). It sounded good, except the bass was somewhat "boomy". I decided to try a three way version, so I got this crossover, and another 8" woofer, and divided the tower cabinet into two parts, with the tweeter & 8" (now a midrange) in the upper part, and the new 8" woofer in the bottom part. I sized the bottom part of the cabinet to equal the optimum sealed volume for the 8PR-8, and the bass is much tighter than it was in the first build. Thanks PE, for having the such a wide selection of parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great crossover for projects.I have a pair of AR 707 floor monitors that had a a 3.3mfd on the tweeter and a 16mfd on the mid. I installed these and they had a much cleaner sound to them. I compared 1 with this crossover & one with the original setup side by side and got much cleaner highs with the crossover.

I have these all wired up for my recent project, but the midrange sounds like it is in a tin can, Im using part #292-200. Could the problem be a defective crossover? Only one cabinet sounds bad, and I have checked that my wiring is identical in both.
