Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple but effectiveI bought this, and a Terk passive FM antenna. To my surprise, it performed as well or better than the Terk. Very pleased with this item. Bought several, as they are a real pig to find in local shops.

Parts Express FM Dipole Antenna

When the terminals have to be cut off, it is difficult to strip insulation.  (wires are threads!) Original silver terminals are crimped over the insulation.  So, can I can insert leads in my receiver's push-button connections with insulation still on? thx

Asked by: fromnowon

How best to position this antenna in a top floor apartment, not near any window? Is it best if the lead wire is fully extended?

Asked by: mitchellwoo
These work best if they are fully extended and as high as possible. Location near windows is not a problem.

How long is the antenna wire before the wire splitting into right and left wires?, AND how long are each ends of the dipole after the main wire split?

Asked by: kjpportland
The single leg is 72" long and each arm is 28" long.

Two questions; One, can I extend the length of this antenna (example to put it on my roof or side of house) ... Two, does PE have an antenna with an F connector like this antenna ? Now the reason for extension is due to the hilly area I live in.

Asked by: inspector of fire
Yes you can extend it but it is designed to work indoors. We carry an "F" type adapter to convert from twin lead to 75 ohm "F" type. part # 180-025

Is this product a fm dipole with an "F" connector that is a push in not a screw? What is the length of the antenna? I am looking for a plug-in FM antenna for a TEAC system.

Asked by: 1516
This has spade connectors for termination and is 6 feet long. You can see the 75 ohm balun we recommend with it below.

I have "push button" terminals on the back of my reciever. Can I simply cut off the fork ends on the tip of the antennae wires and insert them into the push buttons or do i need some sort of adapter/transformer?

Asked by: PBee
Yes you can cut the ends off and simply plug them in that way. No transformer is required for this application.
